BRATMOBILE
Singer Allison Wolfe and drummer Molly Neuman, based in Olympia, Washington and Washington DC, respectively, formed Bratmobile in 1990 in Eugene, Oregon. Bratmobile played its first show on Valentine’s Day 1991 in Olympia with Bikini Kill and cofounded third-wave feminist network riot grrrl. Guitarist Erin Smith joined Bratmobile in the spring of 1991, solidifying the band as a three-piece. Bratmobile released an album Pottymouth and The Real Janelle EP on Kill Rock Stars as well as several 7-inches on various labels. The band broke up in 1994, reformed in 1998, and released two more albums on Lookout Records before breaking up again in 2002. Bratmobile reunited in 2023 to play the Mosswood Meltdown festival.
